Yes I posted this on my forum, as well. It's the big news right now.
I have to admit, I was a little shocked at first. I guess I was getting used to it being called the Revolution.
After watching the intro on the Nintendo site though, it's starting to grow on me. I understand where they are going with it. Nintendo is really pushing "community" big time these days, and I think it is a really smart move. They are trying hard to get everyone involved, your whole family (all generations) and friends from all over the world. I think it is great!
I have also noticed that it looks like they are leaning away from the Nintendo name. The new DS Lite doesn't have any "Nintendo" markings on it (except the label with serial nos. and crap) and they don't seem to be calling the new console the "Nintendo Wii", but just "Wii" I think that is also a smart move, everyone knows it is Nintendo anyways.

I personally didn't like Wii at first, but it's getting better. Really, anyways, what does the name matter anyways?

wow, that's a lot more accepting than you were when I talked to you 5 min. ago. Personally, I think it's awesome, even though I really don't care too much... Too bad I don't have a transcript of our entire conversation...

hmmm.... I don't accept the controller. I said nothing about the name. WHAT!!!!! You don't except the contoller!!!! I think alot of people are really stoked about the contoller and the new ways in which it will allow the user to interact with the game. From what I have seen it is also very versatile. I have seen gun attachments, and attachment that makes it similiar to the current controller setup and so on. I think this makes it very exciting and offers so many possibilities. I also think it might be alot like the DS. It took a while for the different input possibilites to be really opened up well, on the DS and I think we may see the same with the Wii. But, personally i think that will make for a better and longer lasting platform.

No, not really. I was playing the wind waker last night. And every time I hit "B" I swung the gcn controller to see how it would work.

It gave the general feel. It's not THAT bad. I rather would hit a button though. We'll just have to see how it works out.

Uh. Yeah. You DO hit the button to swing the sword in Twilight Princess. There's no reason they'd make you use the controller if it didn't improve the experience. The only reason you would use the the controller to swing the sword is for a finisher move. I don't see how you can possibly be opposed to the controller, I'm more excited about it than I have ever been for any video game. I seriously have dreams about playing the Wii, I think about it so much. I just cannot wait to play it and experience this entirely new level of fun. It'll be like playing Super Mario 64 for the first time, all over again. I CAN'T WAIT!

Yeah, I did see that you just hit B for the sword. I'm looking forward more for Wii now than I did.

I think Nintendo is taking a big chance with the new design for their controller. I have my doubts about it. I would definitely want to test before I would buy it. Do you really want to swing the controller every time you use the sword in Zelda? That seems like it would be really frustrating. I think many Wii controllers will be broken out of frustration soon after it comes out. When is it supposed to come out anyway?

They say some time this fall. Yeah, either Wii is going to own or get owned. (It will either be the best or the worst, nothing in between)
