Has anyone seen the animated version of Redwall? I saw it on DVD at Borders, and I was wondering if it was any good.

I heard it was stupid. I was about to buy it several weeks ago. I bought the STAR WARS cartoon instead though.

I finally saw the Redwall animated series. The DVD had 13 episodes and it covers the first Redwall book. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't terrible either. As Randy Jackson from American Idol would say, "It was a'ight for me." The animation was OK, and the series was dumbed down a little bit. Characters do die on screen which is rare in an animated series aimed at kids. The deaths of Cheesethief, Asmodeus, Shadow, and Methuselah are all in there. The voice actors did a good job with their characters. There are some things added to the series that were not in the book. The biggest change came in the first episode when Cluny kills Matthias' parents. Some other additions are a circus comes to Redwall and Cornflower gets captured by Cluny. I don't mind the changes. It should be expected. Have you ever seen a movie or TV show based on a book without any changes? I can't think of any. If you are a Redwall fan, check it out, but don't expect it to be exactly like the book.
